An Autumn Morning in Sauble Beach

It was beyond Thanksgiving. It was a Friday morning in autumn in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. Heavy traffic is pretty well non-existent here at this time of the year. There was just me and a few other folks on County Road 13. Rush hour on the Bruce! We have many essential services open in Sauble Beach in October now, and I was headed to an appointment. I planned to head to the beach after. I knew I’d have the beach mostly to myself on that beautiful, sunny autumn day. After my beach walk, I headed to the Sauble Falls Road. The Topo Series Lion's Head Mug

Our love of the Bruce boils down in large part, to the landscape. From the powerful waves and sandy shores of Lake Huron, to the rich farming and grazing pastures of the interior, to the Niagara Escarpment that dominates the east coast of the peninsula in the northern section, the geographical features beneath our landscape are what makes this place unique. We thought it fitting that one of our first product designs celebrate the geographic features of the Bruce. An artistic, creative rendering of some special spots by Sally Cooper Lunn is just enough to bring back memories, or make us feel like we're 'home'. The Bruce Shop is Born

As the owners of Bruce Peninsula Boat Tours, we have enjoyed sharing stories and information about the beautiful Bruce. Frequently, we have shared the titles of great books about this location, (local history, geology, local environment), informed you of wonderful places to visit and some of the best places to shop. We have been getting an idea of what you want to see, enjoy, experience and purchase on the Bruce! We tested, and began planning to offer books and gifts at our new Sauble Beach location, in 2020.  Well, you know what happened next!
